Can you understand
The words coming out of my mouth?
Can you understand
Directions, like north, west, east and south?
Can you obey instructions
To "Make it so"?
Can you fathom a promise
That cannot be broken even if it seems slow?
Can you read Scripture
To determine for yourself what is true?
Can you see yourself believing,
Knowing God will see it through?
Such was Balaam's predicament.
He knew but tried to ignore
God's message to be revealed
But Balaam knew the score.
He finally acknowledged
"I must do whatever the Lord says."
Can you accept that same command
And live under Christ's Holy ways?
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
